"Banban" is a dialect of Chongqing, southwestern China, referring to funeral performances unique to the region. The work BANBAN uses the funerary rituals of Chongqing, China as a backdrop and combines them with the rituals of witchcraft in primitive societies to construct a fictional narrative that imagines the singer roaming through nature, communicating and convecting with all things through singing.

After the pandemic
Stillness
Leaving
Walking between the reincarnation of dusk and sunset
Singing along the way
Statues sink slowly along the raindrops
The roar is lost in the whispers of the trees
Life shivering everywhere
Hidden in the wind
Exhaling a wisp of cloud
The sum of life
Subtle
Airy
Heavy
The healing mantra echoes
Returning in the silence
